Biography

Maria di Miceli, the daughter of Giuseppe di Miceli and Vincenza Vasi, marries Leoluca Morello, the son of Nicolo' Morello and Agata di Miceli, on 24 September 1876 in Corleone. Both their fathers have died.^[1]

Leoluca and Maria have at least three children: Nicolo' (1883), Salvatore (1894), and Vincenza.

Nicolo’ is born and baptized on 8 March 1883 in Corleone. His godparents are Paolo Lombardo and Rosa, his sister, both unmarried.^[2]

Salvatore is born 13 July 1894 at via Calvario in Corleone, the son of Leoluca Morello, age 46 (b. 1848), and Maria di Miceli. Testified to by Giuseppe Mancuso, 33 (b. 1861), and Giovanni di Puma, 35 (b. 1859), all contadini. Salvatore cannot read or write.^[3]

Nicolo' emigrates to the United States, where he joins his sister, Vincenza.^[4] He marries a fellow Corleonese, Serafina Cutropia, in Geneseo, New York, in November 1904.^[5]

Nicolo' dies in 1934. He is buried in St Marys Cemetery in Geneseo, NY, with his wife.^[6]
